There are certain make-up mistakes that I see all the time, here are the top 5 things that women shouldn’t do with make-up in order to look beautiful:
- Too Much Make-up. When you wear too much makeup it doesn’t make you look beautiful, it makes you look like you are wearing make-up. And people who obviously look like they are wearing too much make-up are sending a message to the world that they don’t feel beautiful, because they feel like they need to wear a mask that prevents anyone from seeing who they really are. It makes people think that the person must have low self-esteem, because she is wearing so much make-up that it looks like she is wearing a Halloween costume.
- The wrong type of foundation. Also people struggle with trying to find tinted moisturizers or foundations that look good on their skin. Because of this, they often end up wearing an orange looking mask, which is an absolute disaster. As soon as you're wearing the product that is right for you, as soon as you put it on your skin it disappears.
- Wearing More Make-up than is Appropriate for Your Age. When someone wears too much make-up for their age, that is a problem. In the show often we had the opposite problem, where people weren’t wearing enough make-up.
- Out of date looks. Another pet peeve of mine is when women don’t update their look. When I look at Mel, who clearly identified with how she looked in the 80s, and everything about her, including her make-up, reflected that. I think that for a lot of women who really hit their stride during a certain decade, then maintain that look throughout their lives, and as we age, we need to change how it is we present ourselves to the world. If at 40, you are wearing the exact same make-up that you did at 20, it probably doesn’t look that good. People cling and identify with that time that they felt most beautiful.
- Women not wearing mascara. I’ve seen people who are absolutely gorgeous but because they don’t wear mascara they look deathly ill. As someone that has been in the beauty industry for 25 years, whenever I see a woman not wearing mascara, I immediately want to grab a mascara wand and start painting her eyelashes. Mascara makes your eyes look fuller, more awake, frames the eyes much better and it’s a very simple thing to be able to do that will dramatically change the way you look.

Make-up Mistakes
Most women wear more make-up than they need, to look beautiful. Four products and just a few minutes is all you need. If you wear none, a little time is worth the investment. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful! Check out www.fredbeauty.com

Makeup generally
I am one of those strange people who does not wear makeup. I cannot close my left eye and keep my right eye open so it would be very interesting to see what it would look like if I put it on.
Mascara
Makes me wonder what is in the mascara. My eyes are sensitive to the stuff. I have tried different brands and some very expensive ones that are hypo allergenic. Am yet to find one that I can wear without rubbing it off. Anyone have any suggestions for a mascara that might work?
makeup
I need a make over to show me what to do and not to do for my age!
FOUNDATION
I have the palest of pale skin...even the lightest of foundations is usually too dark for me!
I'm like a ghost
but have been using Clinique's alabaster shade for years.
Aaargh mascara. Mascara hates
Aaargh mascara. Mascara hates me, it always ends up as dark circles underneath my eyes somehow. Ruined a bunch of my wedding photos actually. Haven't worn it since because of that. No need for the zombie look here, I'm pale enough already.
Mascara
I am a redhead with long but extremely fair eyelashes. People stop in their tracks on the rare occasion that I wear mascara. However, I have yet to find a mascara that doesn't bother my eyes.
I'm with you and have tried
I'm with you and have tried extremely cheap to very expensive and all I do when I wear it is cry
