The National Challenge Events: Your Questions Answered
In just three days we are holding our X-Weighted events at 12 locations across Canada. At these events, participants in the National Challenge will be able to get a free fitness assessment, potentially meet with the X-Weighted experts and past participants from the show and... the first 50 participants to turn up at each location will get a loot bag.
As we are getting lots of questions about these events, we thought that we'd answer some of those questions for you.
Do I really get to meet the X-Weighted experts?
If you have bought a ticket to the event in Saint John that the YMCA is putting on, you'll get to come face-to-face with Paul Plakas. Dr. David Macklin will be at the Toronto location and Fred Connors will be at the Halifax location. At other locations, you may get to meet some of the most memorable participants in the X-Weighted TV show.
What is in the loot bags?
Now that would be telling! We can let you know that the loot bags are full of great stuff that will help you on your journey.
Why aren't you holding an event in my city?
We tried to get as many fitness centres on board as we could, and this year we managed to get 12. We know that this left a lot of cities in Canada without an event centre, but we are hopeful that next year (should we repeat the challenge) we will be able to get a lot more centres on board.
Do I need to attend one of the events in order to register for the challenge?
No you do not. Even those who attend the events will still need to register online on January 9 and 10th, 2010. This is the only way that the system will recognize you are registered for the National Challenge, by entering all your information on our website.
Why should I attend one of the events if there are no experts there?
Attending the events will be a great way to start the Challenge, because you will get to meet other people in your area that are undertaking the Challenge and therefore start building up the support networks that are so vital to succeeding. You also get to undertake a fitness test and get weighed and measured by fitness professionals. For many people, getting out there in public and saying "Yes, I am going to do this," is a great motivator and can help kick start your efforts.
If you have any more questions about these events, please do e-mail us and we will answer your questions as quickly as we can.
